Denton County coronavirus cases spike with single-day high of 19
Denton County confirmed a single-day high of 19 new coronavirus cases Wednesday for a total of 70.
One of the new patients is a resident of Denton State Supported Living Center. The woman her 50s is the seventh to contract COVID-19 at the facility.
The new patients include four in Frisco, three in Carrollton, three in Prosper, and two each in Flower Mound, Trophy Club and Little Elm.
Of the 70 patients, 47 have isolated at home and 20 are currently or have been hospitalized. Three cases are still being investigated.
There have been 33 cases of local transmission, 27 related to recent travel, seven with contact with a previously-confirmed patient and three pending investigation.
Twelve patients are in their 20s, nine are in their 30s, 13 are in their 40s, 15 are in their 50s, 17 in their 60s, three in their 70s and one over 80.
