Denton County adds 15 coronavirus cases, including 3 patients in their 20s

Denton County confirmed 15 new coronavirus cases Tuesday to bring its total to 51.

Three of the new cases are in Carrollton and two more have been confirmed in Denton, Flower Mound and Lewisville.

Five of the new cases are patients 39 years old or younger, including three in their 20s. Of the 51 total patients, 10 are in their 20s and only three are 70 or older. Thirty-two patients are between 40 and 69.

The 51 cases are spread across 18 cities and unincorporated Denton County.

Two of the new patients are residents of the Denton State Supported Living Center, where six total confirmed cases have been reported.

Of the 51 patients, 36 have been in home isolation and 15 are currently or have at one point been hospitalized.

Local transmission has been identified in 21 cases and travel has been identified in 22 cases. Five patients had direct contact with a known case. Three cases are still being investigated.
