October was another record-setting month for Fort Worth’s housing market
October was another record-setting month for Fort Worth real estate.
The median home price in Fort Worth rose to $310,000, a new record, according to the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors’ October 2021 report.
That’s an increase of 1.6% from September 2021 and 21.6% compared to last October.
In Tarrant County, the median home price rose to $316,050, up 0.9% from September and 19.7% from last year.
Homes were even more expensive in Parker County, where the median price rose to $390,000. That’s an increase of 1% from September and 18.2% from October 2020.
The speed of home price increases has slowed, but signs like inventory and days on the market show there’s still pent-up demand, the report said.
“We were hopeful that new construction would help us alleviate inventory pressures in the year ahead,” association president Elizabeth McCoy said in the report. “However, with the supply chain issues being experienced in almost every area of construction, it remains to be seen what kind of relief will actually come.”
Because the holiday season is typically slow for real estate, realtors don’t expect changes to inventory for several months.
