Construction to begin on $13.5M, 5-story hotel in Fort Worth’s Medical District

Two new Cambria Hotels are in the works in North Texas as the chain expands its presence across the state.

Cambria expects to break ground this month on a new property in Fort Worth, according to company spokesperson Lindsay Erickson.

Construction on the five-story hotel at 2120 W. Rosedale St. is estimated to cost $13.5 million, according to filings with the state. The hotel near Fort Worth’s Medical District will be about a block east of a Hilton Garden Inn and a Homewood Suites by Hilton. The new hotel will be the Choice Hotels brand’s first property in Fort Worth.

It’s unclear how many rooms the Rosedale hotel will bring to Fort Worth, but the property is expected to span nearly 70,000 square feet.

Similar to other Cambria Hotels, the new Fort Worth location will feature an on-site restaurant and bar, meeting and event rooms, free Wi-Fi in rooms, Bluetooth mirrors in bathrooms and a fitness center. It is unclear whether the new location will feature a pool like some other Cambria properties.

A second hotel at 4240 State Highway 114 in Northlake will bring 111 rooms and 1,900 square feet of meeting space to Denton County. The property will also have 5,900 square feet of conference space adjacent to the hotel, Erickson said.

There are three other Cambria locations in the Metroplex — in Southlake, Plano and Richardson. The upcoming Northlake hotel will be about 10 miles northwest of Cambria’s Southlake property near DFW Airport.
