Amazon adding 2,000 more jobs in Metroplex

Amazon.com is hiring again.

The e-commerce giant said today it’s seeking to fill 2,000 newly created full-time positions at its Metroplex fulfillment centers located in Haslet, Coppell, and the one under construction in southern Dallas.

Amazon has been expanding rapidly in the area. Employment at the company’s 1.1 million-square-foot Haslet fulfillment center has doubled this year with the addition 450 workers announced this spring. The company says it has created more than 3,000 jobs in North Texas since opening its fulfillment center in 2013.

Amazon also operates a center in Schertz, near San Antonio, and in August announced plans to add one in San Marcos.

The company said associates at the facilities work work with “innovative technologies,” such as Amazon robotics, to fill orders.

Full-time employees receive comprehensive benefits including healthcare, a 401(k) retirement savings plan and company stock awards. Amazon also offers programs like Career Choice, which will pre-pay up to 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.
