H-E-B Mid-cities set to open its doors to shoppers early Wednesday morning
The Mid-Cities H-E-B will open to customers on Wednesday at 6 a.m. at 2105 Rio Grande Boulevard in Euless and had a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday ahead of the grand opening.
The store is also near Bedford and Colleyville, where residents are eagerly awaiting the grand opening.
The grocer had purchased the land around 12 years ago and is one of only 50 stores that have a True Texas Barbecue.
Juan-Carlos Ruck, executive vice president, North West Food and Drug operations, said that Wednesday morning will be the moment of truth for everyone who has been working toward that happening.
According to Ruck, the store also has a new hot food option where shoppers can buy tamales, rotisserie chicken, crawfish and shrimp and freshly baked cookies and more. This new option along with the pick-up meals are designed for busy families on the go.
“Our intention is to continue, and so we’ve been blessed with great success so far, and we’ve continued to have aggressive growth plans,” Ruck said. “And the ones we’ve announced, the stores that are currently in construction, you all know about, and ideally will continue to grow here in North Texas and all over Texas.”
The grocer broke ground on the 126,000-square-foot store in November 2024 at the corner of Cheek-Sparger Road and Rio Grande Boulevard, down the street from Glade Park’s shopping center off of State Highway 121.
Shoppers can get their fuel, sushi, fresh fruits, cakes, charcuterie board items, barbecue, groceries, medication, fresh flowers and more at the store.
“The True Texas Barbecue is a newer edition, which actually has been voted as one of the top barbecue chains in Texas,” said Tory Adams, top store leader at H-E-B. “We have the curbside business, we’ll have delivery services through a third-party delivery service, but our shoppers, if you place it online, we shop your order for you.”
Stephen Butt, H-E-B’s president of shareholder relations and the central market division whose family started H-E-B, said they are humbled by the response to the H-E-B and Joe V’s stores around the metroplex.
“The plan to bring H-E-B stores to Dallas-Fort Worth began years ago,” Butt said. “(Wednesday), Hurst, Euless and Bedford will be our 12 H-E-B food, drugstore to serve North Texas friends, and with more exciting locations on the way, we’ve been humbled by the warm reception that our H-E-B and our Joe V store have received across the metroplex.”
H-E-B donated $10,000 each to three local charities: Special Connections, ArtsNet, Community Enrichment Center and the Hurst Public Library.
“We truly believe that giving back not only allows us to better serve you better, but more importantly, it allows us to create that strong bond that I was talking about with our communities, understanding that each and every person counts,” Butt said.
Euless Mayor Tim Stinneford and Bedford Mayor Dan Cogan both attended the ribbon-cutting on Tuesday and spoke about how the partnership between their two cities and H-E-B made the process easy and recognized the work that went into bringing in H-E-B.
Both cities warned residents ahead of time about the increase in heavy traffic during the initial opening days of the store.
H-E-B, with headquarters in San Antonio, operates more than 455 stores in Texas and Mexico and employs more than 175,000 people.
