Dallas-bound Frontier aircraft hit by American Airlines plane at Boston’s Logan Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after an American Airlines flight collided with the wing of a Dallas-bound Frontier plane at Boston Logan International Airport on Monday, Nov. 25.

An American Airlines Boeing 777 struck the wingtip of a Frontier Airlines Airbus A321 that was parked at the gate around 12 p.m. local time, the FAA said in a statement.

The American Airlines flight arrived from London, while the Frontier flight prepared to depart from Boston to Dallas-Fort Worth.

There were 200 passengers on board the Frontier plane at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew, a spokesperson for Frontier Airlines said.

The FAA is investigating the collision.

A spokesperson for American Airlines said all customers deplaned the company’s aircraft shortly after the incident and there were no reported injuries.

“The aircraft has been removed from service for inspection by our maintenance team. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this caused,” the Fort Worth-based airline said.

Another collision occurred at Boston Logan International Airport on the same day at 6:15 p.m. when a JetBlue Airbus A321 struck the back of Cape Air Flight 617, according to FAA records.
