McDonald’s appears to be planning to build its first restaurant in Argyle along the rapidly developing Interstate 35W corridor of southern Denton County.

The $1.5 million project was registered on the state’s licensing website as starting March 13 and finishing construction in mid-July.

The exact location is unclear. The state site suggests it will be on FM 407. Denton County building permit records show the project is pending at a site at Harvest Town Center, a mixed-use development planned for the northwest corner of FM 407 and I-35W.

The McDonald’s will be 4,400 square feet, which is about the typical size for its new restaurants.

The other closest McDonald’s locations to Argyle is about 7 miles south near Texas Motor Speedway, and about 10 miles north in Denton.
