It’s the ‘McDonald’ vs. the ‘McKamala’: This clever burger joint is coming to Arlington

Rodeo Goat, home of themed burgers such as the current “McDonald” and “McKamala,” will join other restaurants opening new locations in central Arlington, according to a state permit filing.

The North Texas company founded in 2012 near the Fort Worth rodeo midway grounds will open at 333 E. Division St., between AT&T Stadium and downtown Arlington.

Rodeo Goat, expected in spring 2025, will join several restaurants planning new locations in central Arlington, including Breakfast Brothers, Blue Mint Thai, Arizona-based Cheba Hut and California-based Huckleberry’s. They will follow trailblazers Hurtado Barbecue, Grease Monkey Burgers, Cane Rosso and Babe’s Chicken Dinner House.

Rodeo Goat’s current monthly “Battle of the Burgers” features two election-themed choices:

The “McDonald,” named for a certain former president and fry cook, is a double-decker burger with special sauce, lettuce, cheese, horseradish pickles and onion, all on a Cheeto bun.

Not to be outpunned, the “McKamala” also pays tribune to a Doritos-loving vice president and former Golden Arches employee. It’s a large cheeseburger with onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard, all on a Nacho Cheese Doritos bun.

All Rodeo Goat burgers are available as beef, turkey, chicken, black bean or plant-based burgers.

Rodeo Goat was one of the region’s first artisan-burger restaurants. It’s known for burgers such as the “Chaca Oaxaca” with a beef-chorizo mix; the Billy Gibbons “Bad Hombre” bacon Gouda cheeseburger with habanero; the “Sugar Burger” with bacon, peaches and jalapeno jam; or the “Whiskey Burger” with bacon, Irish whiskey cheddar and blackberry compote.

The restaurant is a Wynne family project from the same company behind Flying Fish, also popular in downtown Arlington, and the Flying Saucer, a restaurant and craft beer pub.
