Here’s the new name for one of Fort Worth’s and Texas’ oldest barbecue restaurants

Fort Worth Barbecue Co. is open

Hey, Bud! I’m confused about Bailey’s Bar-B-Que. Is it open? Is it changing or not?

—Downtown reader

Yes and yes! Fort Worth Barbecue Co. will soon become the new name of Bailey’s Bar-B-Que, open since 1931 at 826 Taylor St. Bailey’s menu isn’t changing, and neither are the reasonable prices. New owner Panther City BBQ has started adding specials such as the brisket elote, house-made sides and desserts such as Nutter Butter cheesecake pudding from its main restaurant, 201 E. Pennsylvania Ave.

3rd Street Market boulangerie open

Hey, Bud! I’m confused about 3rd Street Market. Is it open?

—Missing the soup

Yes! The 3rd Street Market foodie shop downtown is now 3rd Street Market Patissery. It’s a boulangerie serving custom French croissants, tarts, macarons and other desserts from Patissery and More. Sandwiches and lunches will come back later. It’s at 425 W. Third St.

F1 Smokehouse has breakfast, free coffee

Hey, Bud! I saw a photo of the burrito at F1 Smokehouse. Is that the real deal?

F1 Smokehouse, 517 University Drive, is a barbecue-themed restaurant and bar from chef Graham Elliot and the Tavern/Pacific Table folks. It now serves breakfast — with free coffee (!) — at 8 a.m. daily. The $6-$7 tacos and burritos come with first-rate salsas, and the chilaquiles are a work of art.
