Stand by for burnt ends: New Dayne’s, Heim BBQ restaurants opening near Fort Worth

Dayne’s to open in Aledo; Press Cafe next

Hey, Bud! When will Dayne’s and Press Cafe in Aledo open? Looks close.

—On Farm Road 1187

Dayne’s Craft Barbecue in old downtown Aledo is nearly finished and will be in its new home by mid-December, maybe sooner, Dayne Weaver said.

The photos look great. The Weavers completely remodeled a building that has been home to several barbecue restaurants over the years. Look for it at 100 S. Front St.

A new Press Cafe (as in a coffee French press) will follow at 109 S. Front St., probably after New Year’s.

Heim BBQ to open in Burleson

Hey, Bud! What about that Heim Barbecue in Burleson?

It’s even closer. Heim’s opening day is near, maybe before Dec. 1

Heim is opening at 139 W. Ellison St. in Old Town Burleson. It’s the fourth area location for the home of “bacon burnt ends.”

Cut & Bourbon, hotels on Christmas

Hey, Bud! With all these new restaurants, will there be there any place new to take the family for Christmas lunch?

—Holiday foodie

Matter of fact, yes. Cut & Bourbon in the Live by Loews! in Arlington will be serving a $68 holiday buffet, and that hotel would be an easy pick with the Dallas Cowboys off that day.

In Fort Worth, Bricks and Horses will be open in the Bowie House, Auberge Resorts Collection, but has not announced a holiday menu. Same for Emilia’s in the Crescent.

The old reliable, Cast Iron in the Omni Fort Worth, has plenty of room available Christmas Day for its $78 ballroom buffet brunch. Del Frisco’s Grille also is usually open.

Remember, few restaurants open Christmas Day. Book early.
