Fort Worth’s Quince restaurant will open a 2nd Texas location. Here’s where in Austin

Quince to add restaurant in Austin

Hey, Bud! Did you say Quince was opening in Austin?

Quince, the Fort Worth restaurant on the Trinity Trail in the WestBend shops, is also repairing and reopening an Austin location. It’ll replace Abel’s on the Lake at 3825 Lake Austin Blvd., next to Hula Hut.

Chuy’s has a ‘Mexican martini’

Hey, Bud! I was wondering if you have come across an Austin-style “Mexican martini.”

—Another Austin ex

I know Trudy’s in Austin is known for a margarita “martini” with a splash of olive juice. But I’ve had varying results ordering them here.

I notice they’re on the drink menu at the Austin-based Chuy’s Tex-Mex locations. An Eats Beat reader will know.

JD’s Hamburgers patio open, dining soon

Hey, Bud! What do you hear about JD’s Hamburgers?

—Westland motorist

JD’s patio is open nightly except Sundays at 9901 Camp Bowie West Blvd. Indoor dining will reopen by mid-July — that’s a guess — after four months of repairs following the March 2 storm.

Meanwhile:

Dayne’s Craft Barbecue across the street at 9840 Camp Bowie West Blvd. has burgers at lunch Thursdays and Fridays.

Fred’s Texas Cafe, 7101 Camp Bowie West Blvd., has a new expanded menu with more choices.

And Fuego Burger, a neighborhood favorite for years, continues to serve burgers with cheesy goodness at 4400 Benbrook Highway.
