A popular Fort Worth restaurant will open a second location in an Aledo landmark
Press Cafe, a popular restaurant and patio from the Clearfork neighborhood in Fort Worth, will open a second location in downtown Aledo, that city announced Wednesday.
A new Press — as in a French press coffeemaker — will open at 109 S. Front St., replacing the ill-conceived Bistro 1031.
The first Press opened in 2016 at 4801 Edwards Ranch Road. It became known for its trailside patio along the river and for all-day brunch, lunch and dinner service.
It’s part of San Angelo product Felipe Armenta’s local restaurant empire, which also includes The Tavern, Pacific Table and a forthcoming steakhouse in the Stockyards.
In an announcement by the Parker County city of Aledo, Armenta was quoted as saying Press Cafe would serve its “unique take on contemporary American classics.”
Like other restaurants from Armenta, a former Houston’s/Hillstone executive, Press Cafe offers a short but varied menu of small plates, salads, burgers and a few full-size entrees.
The company has also announced plans to open Le Margot, 3150 S. Hulen St., a simple French cafe and wine bar; F1 Smokehouse, 517 University Drive; Cowboy Prime, a steakhouse, 128 E. Exchange Ave.; and an unnamed Italian restaurant between Aledo and Benbrook.
Armenta’s company also operates Towne Grill in Alliance Town Center, similar to The Tavern; the Cork & Pig Tavern restaurants in Southlake and Irving; a Pacific Table in Irving; and Maria’s in Fort Worth, named for his late mother, Maria De Los Angeles Gil Armenta.
