Southlake Town Square is getting into the chicken business — bigtime.

Whistle Britches, a chicken restaurant by a celebrated Dallas chef, will open at 431 Grand Ave. East, in the space given up by Snuffer’s.

Chef Omar Flores was nominated for a James Beard award for his work at much-missed Casa Rubia in Trinity Groves.

Now, his Whistle Britches restaurants in north Dallas and Plano serve an amazing range of chicken dinners ($11-$34) and buttermilk biscuits, along with brunch, side dishes and cocktails.

Flores, an El Paso product, also just opened a new Tex-Mex restaurant, Muchacho, 4011 Villanova St. in Dallas.

More new restaurants in the square:

Ozeki Ramen, Sushi & Izakaya, an immediate hit, is open at 432 Grand Ave. West.

Crumbl, a Utah-based cookie shop chain and delivery service, is open at 1516 E. Southlake Blvd., a former chain sandwich shop.

California-based Pressed Juicery is open at 222 State St., a former juice shop.
