Shop till you — dine? This store’s buffet serves turkey and more every day
Why limit holiday dining to two days?
Every day is turkey and prime rib buffet day at the Zodiac, the restaurant serving a seasonal holiday buffet on the sixth floor of the downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus.
The Zodiac’s holiday buffet begins the day before Thanksgiving and continues through New Year’s, every weekday and Saturday (plus December Sundays before Christmas).
For $43, you can help yourself to turkey with pan gravy and cornbread dressing, prime rib with horseradish sauce, mustard-glazed smoke ham, pot roast, lamb chops with mint chutney, roast chicken with salsa verde, seared salmon or ravioli.
Side dishes include potato latkes with apples, roast butternut squash, broccolini and mac-and-cheese, along with a choice of about 10 salads.
For dessert, there’s white chocolate-cherry bread pudding or a choice of pumpkin, chocolate and red velvet cake.
If you’ve never gone to the downtown Dallas Neiman’s — many who’ve lived here years haven’t — it’s a classic old-time department store with several floors of lavish decorations.
The Zodiac is open for lunch weekdays and Saturdays except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, plus for lunch Sundays Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23; 1618 Main St., sixth floor, 214-573-5800, neimanmarcus.com.
▪ The smaller NM Cafe is Fort Worth is not big enough to serve a buffet, but it has a new fall menu.
It’ll be open extended hours until 5 p.m. Dec. 8, 15 and 22; 5200 Monahans Ave., 817-989-4650, neimanmarcus.com.
