Spoiled plantains, no hot water found during Frisco health inspections
One Frisco restaurant received a high score for insufficient hot water and improperly stored food during the June 14-27 health inspections, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
The city of Frisco scores restaurants on a demerit system. Those that receive more than 30 fail and may be closed at the health inspector’s discretion. No restaurants were closed and none failed the recent inspections.
Hocco The Indian Kitchen at 2693 Preston Road scored 23 on June 18. Some employees hadn’t completed their food handler training course, tomatoes and cheese weren’t held at a safe temperature in the cooler, and the water heaters weren’t working. The hot water was restored during the inspection, so the facility wasn’t required to close.
Haidilao Hot Pot at 9292 Warren Parkway scored 9 on June 25. There was no certified food manager on site when the inspection started. The inspector said a future violation in this area will result in a citation and closure.
K&K African Market at 307 Main St. scored 8 on June 22. The freezers needed cleaning and there were no paper towels or soap at one of the hand sinks. The inspector warned that future violations in these areas could result in a citation. Some spoiled plantains were also attracting flies and had to be thrown out.
No establishment had issues with roaches or rodent droppings during this round of inspections.
