Flies, rodent contamination, roaches seen during Fort Worth restaurant inspections
One Fort Worth restaurant had “heavy fly activity” and rodent contamination was seen at another during the latest city health inspections, according to inspection reports.
Fort Worth uses a demerit system, with zero being a perfect score. Restaurants that receive more than 30 demerits are required to immediately fix the most critical violations and start corrective procedures on all the other violations within 48 hours.
The reports compiled by the Star-Telegram contain health violation data from June 7-20 and 134 inspections.
One restaurant had problems with rodent droppings and rodent contamination:
Caleto Bar & Grill at 3468 Blue Bonnet Circle scored 23 after health inspectors observed rodent debris in the kitchen and cheese in proximity to rodent contamination.
Three restaurants had problems with roaches:
- Acapulco Restaurant, 1320 NW 25th St. Health inspectors observed one roach and heavy fly activity. Score: 20.
- Birrieria Tres Coronas, 50 E. Seminary Drive. Inspectors observed a dead cockroach in the corner of the walk-in cooler. Score: 19.
- Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine, 4259 Bryant Irvin Road. Health inspectors observed a dead roach by the back door.
Restaurants with other violations:
- Dos Molina’s, 404 NW 25th St. Health inspectors observed multiple temperature and cross-contamination findings, including raw beef stored above cooked chicken and sanitizer concentration. Inspectors also found tomatoes, cheese, cooked chicken and beef between 48 and 51 degrees. Score: 23.
- The Lakehouse, 9307 Boat Club Road. Health inspectors observed multiple foods and equipment above required temperatures and flies in the kitchen. Score: 20.
