A new neighborhood sports bar brings burgers and ceviche to Keller
A new neighborhood sports bar opened recently in Keller, from the same folks behind the Goat Tavern concepts in Roanoke and North Richland Hills.
The Eagle Tavern, located at 721 Keller Parkway #100, opened on June 8 and is still in its soft opening stage, with a grand opening planned soon.
“We want to create a fun place with good vibes, and I want people to feel like it’s their third home,” General Manager Kelly Jackson said in a social media post. “Home, work and The Eagle.”
The restaurant is right next to i Fratelli Pizza and is in the unit that previously housed the Baja Cantina before it closed.
Eagle Tavern is a spin-off of the Goat Tavern in Roanoke and the Goat Tavern 2 in North Richland Hills. Some of the menu items are the same but other items have been added.
Jackson told the Star-Telegram that customers can still get burgers, flatbreads, fried pickles and fried mushrooms that the Goat Tavern serves, but you’ll also get new additions like shrimp ceviche.
The restaurant offers a lunch special Monday to Friday from 11 a.m to 2:00 p.m.
Jackson said it’s a sports bar with some menu items that are “elevated” and those items were picked specifically for what Keller residents would “receive well.”
“We have been welcomed very warmly,” Jackson said. “Several of the customers frequent a lot of the Keller spots and learned about the Goat, and would make trips up there, but they like to stay in Keller, and so they were super excited to have something closer to home.”
Jackson said customers will still get tacos, burgers, flatbreads, fried pickles and fried mushrooms that the Goat Tavern serves, but you’ll also get new additions like shrimp ceviche.
For patrons who are there for sports, The Eagle has multiple screens to watch the FIFA World Cup maches and Rangers and Cowboys games.
“We just want to build a warm and inviting atmosphere, and I think that we’ve hired a good staff to do that, and we’re always open to feedback,” said Jackson. “ I just want to meet the needs of the residents of Keller, and so far it seems like we are doing that.”
