This Bedford sushi restaurant with a chef from Nobu is opening a sister concept
Bedford’s Bleu Bear Sushi is coming to Flower Mound.
The sushi joint will soon open its Flower Mound sister concept, called Silver Sea Sushi.
Chef Pang Bamrungsin is the brains behind both the Bleu Bear and Silver Sea menus. She brings expertise from Nobu, a Japanese-Peruvian Michelin recognized sushi restaurant.
“After exploring the Flower Mound dining scene, we noticed that our restaurant style isn’t currently represented here,” Sirilux Aodsuwan, owner of Silver Sea and Bleu Bear Sushi, told the Star-Telegram. “We’re excited to bring a new concept to the area and offer the local community something fresh and different.”
Customers can still get Bleu Bear dishes like the salmon sashimi wrapped around apple, or the yellowtail sashimi bathed in yuzu soy sauce. But there are also new menu items at Silver Sea (that aren’t offered at Bleu Bear), like spicy tuna tacos and Japanese A5 wagyu on a hot rock.
Is Silver Sea Sushi the same menu as Bleu Bear?
There are similarities in the two menus. However, Silver Sea will offer a slightly more upscale atmosphere and dining experience.
Silver Sea has delicacies like a sea urchin tray for $189. If one wants to indulge in the Japanese A5 wagyu, it will be a $159.99 splurge.
But there are also plenty of wallet-friendly variations.
Sea urchin also comes as nigiri for $12, and sashimi for $24. And one can still enjoy wagyu in dumpling form for $14.99 or as nigiri for $11.99.
Customers can choose their adventure– an elevated fine dining meal with choices like prime New York strip steak, the popular miso black cod or bone-in grilled lamb chops. Or, customers can play it casual, with a few staple sushi rolls like spicy tuna, california or philadelphia roll.
When will Silver Sea Sushi open?
Silver Sea is in its soft opening phase for the next two to three weeks.
Until March 18, customers can dine in for 20 percent off their entire bill “as a welcome to the community,” Aodsuwan said.
A grand opening date will be announced soon.

Bleu Bear is located about 25 minutes south at 2807 Central Drive in Bedford.
