▪ What else to know: Danny’s Greek Cafe opened in fall 2025 in the former space of Mr. Gatti’s Pizza on Horne Street. Star-Telegram reporter Ella Gonzales wrote in August that the restaurant was started by Joe Lusha, the same owner of Joe’s Pizza Italian Cuisine and Bar off Sycamore School Road.

The small space and warm customer service make Danny’s truly a local neighborhood gem, especially for people who work in the area. The menu is simple and focused on Greek staples. The table service or orders to go are fast. And best of all, nearly all the meals are $8 to $15. We recently tried the gyro rice bowl ($13) which comes with tender gyro meat, yellow rice, chickpeas, olives, red onion, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, feta, “signature sauce” and plenty of pita.

Early reviews online are very positive. On Yelp, one diner wrote “the staff really CARES about preparing & serving delicious dishes (ask about their homemade tomato vinaigrette dressing!)” Another said, “I think I finally found my favorite gyro in Fort Worth! So fresh and so tasty. There’s a perfect mixture of Greek flavors in Danny’s Traditional Gyro. I also ordered the hummus, which comes with pita, and it was so good as well! It’s a smaller restaurant with hole in the wall vibes which I love.”

Danny’s Greek Cafe is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Mondays.
