Plano restaurant cited for serving undercooked chicken in health inspection

Three Plano restaurants had low scores and another was cited for serving customers undercooked chicken in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection reports.

The reports compiled by the Star-Telegram contain data and health violations from July 6 through July 19 and the results of 99 inspections.

Plano’s restaurant inspections function on a 100-point system: A score of 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered extremely poor. Each food establishment receives between one and four routine inspections per year.

Three eateries had scores below 80 in this round of inspections:

  1. The Biscuit Bar, located at 5880 Texas Highway 121, had a score of 72.
  2. Anjappar, located at 4940 McDermott Road, had a score of 73.
  3. Dallas Kabob House, located at 2040 W. Spring Creek Parkway, had a score of 74.

The Biscuit Bar was cited for holding temperature-sensitive foods like raw eggs, cheese, greens and marinated chicken at unsafe temperatures, according to the report. The restaurant was also cited for serving chicken that had not reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

Ked’s Artisan Ice Cream & Treats, located at 6205 Coit Road, had a score of 95. The restaurant was cited for issues related to roaches, according to the report.
