Arlington restaurant fails inspection due to ‘critical health violations’
One Arlington restaurant received a low score for serious health violations and failed during the June 22-28 inspections, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
Arlington restaurants are scored on a 100-point system, with 100 being a perfect score. Restaurants and other places that serve food that score 75 or less require a follow-up inspection, and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor.
Zuri Restaurant and Bar at 117 S. Watson Road scored 69 on June 28. The eatery is located inside the Lux Hotel. Inspectors noticed “several critical health violations,” including mold in the sour cream and a dirty microwave, according to City of Arlington Health Services.
Raw and cooked chicken was left at room temperature without any way to tell how long it had been out. Some employees prepped vegetables with bare hands or failed to wash their hands before putting on gloves, the city said. Containers of sanitizer were unlabeled.
The city conducted 89 inspections during the week. The following establishments received a perfect score of 100.
- Dino’s Subs at 2221 S Collins St.
- D.R. Horton Cafe at 1341 Horton Circle
- Pioneer Food Mart at 1223 E. Pioneer Parkway
- QuikTrip at 1425 N. Cooper St.
