Mice droppings found in Tarrant County health inspections. 3 restaurants temporarily close

Three restaurants were temporarily closed in Tarrant County after recent health inspections, records show.

According to county data compiled by the Star-Telegram, 256 inspections were conducted between Dec. 15 and Jan. 4.

Tarrant County Public Health is transitioning to a new inspection report format. Under the old system, a perfect score was 0 demerits. The new system considers 100 as the highest possible score and indicates no violations.

151 Coffee at 6720 Westworth Blvd. in Westworth Village voluntarily closed due to a backup in a floor drain in the kitchen. The business has reopened.

Taqueria Los Parientes at 8004 Chapin Road near Fort Worth voluntarily ceased operation due to lack of hot water. The Tarrant County Public Health department needs to do a follow-up inspection before any operation resumes. The restaurant scored 90 in its inspection.

Cotton Patch Cafe at 8004 Denton Highway 202 in Watauga voluntarily paused food operations due to the presence of an obnoxious odor in the water heater area. The establishment repaired it and reopened after an hour. The restaurant scored 95.

No restaurants received a score under 70 in this inspection cycle.

The following five restaurants had follow-up inspections after inspectors observed multiple health violations.

Campo Verde, 2918 W Pioneer Parkway in Dalworthington Gardens. Score: 71

Farinas Winery, 420 S. Main in Grapevine. Score: 83

Olivos Cafe Tortilla Factory, 400 W. Pipeline Road in Hurst. Score: 89

151 Coffee, 6720 Westworth Blvd. in Westworth Village. Score: 97

Funky Bajas Cantina, 721 Keller Parkway in Keller. Score: 100

Droppings from mice and other rodents were observed at three restaurants.

Wongs Express at 515 N. Stewart in Azle scored 79. Inspectors found rodent feces on the floor where bags of rice were kept.

El Cielito Lindo at 6950 Forest Hill Drive in Forest Hill scored 89. Inspectors observed mice droppings in the storage area.

4U Convenient Store at 4900 Highway 377 S in Benbrook scored 94. Mice droppings and a dead cricket were found in the establishment.
