Roaches, rat droppings found at Dallas restaurants in health inspections
One restaurant temporarily closed and three failed health inspections in Dallas, according to city data compiled by the Star-Telegram.
There were 332 inspections between Nov. 10 and Nov. 23.
Dallas uses a 100-point system in restaurant inspections. Scores of 100 to 90 are considered to be very good, and restaurant scores from 80 to 89 are considered to be good. Both require the next regular inspection to be in six months.
Restaurante & Panderia La Campina Salvadorena at 3068 Forest Lane was temporarily closed due to lack of hot water.
Restaurants scoring between 69 and 60 fail and require a follow-up inspection within 10 days or closure. Three restaurants failed in this inspection cycle.
Bodard Bistro at 9780 Walnut St. Ste 340 scored 67, and failed due to various demerits including an employee had not completed an accredited food-handler course within the required time, and other health hazards like cross contamination, food items without proper dates or labels, and cockroaches in the kitchen.
Bep Nha Viet Kitchen at 9780 Walnut St. Ste 120 scored 69. Health inspectors observed various hazards including an employee coughing and picking their nose then serving water to a guest, lack of food handler certificates, and rat droppings and rat gnaw marks on food containers in storage areas.
Heroes Sports Grill at 3094 N Stemmons scored 69 and had multiple health violations including expired milk, dead roaches on a sticky trap and in a drain, among others.
