Five Fort Worth restaurants closed for serious health violations in recent inspections
Five Fort Worth restaurants were closed for serious health violations during inspections from Dec. 4 to Dec. 24, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
Los Juanitos Mexican Food, located at 1000 E. Berry St., was closed for multiple health violations. It passed its follow-up inspection and was cleared to reopen. Pizza Hut at 2400 W. Berry St. was closed for no hot water and wastewater backup. Pizza Way - Italy Express at 1902 Green Oaks Road Suite 2546 was closed for no hot water. Mexican Restaurant Perez at 3702 Altamesa Blvd. was closed due to inadequate refrigeration. Habaneros Mexican Cuisine at 8542 S. Hulen St. was closed for wastewater backup.
Our Café at 7420 N. Beach St., Suite 230, received the most demerits during this round of inspections with 36. Violations included not storing food at a safe temperature and roaches. Restaurants that receive more than 30 demerits are required to immediately fix the most critical violations and start corrective procedures on all the other violations within 48 hours.
Family Pho Restaurant at 9400 Clifford St., Suite 130, had 35 demerits. Nancy’s Good Luck Drive-In at 900 W. Rosedale St. had 32 demerits, and Los Juanitos Mexican Food at 1000 E. Berry St. had 31.
Family Pho Restaurant, Nancy’s Good Luck Drive-In and Los Juanitos Mexican Food all passed their follow-up inspections with low demerits.
Roaches were observed at Our Café, Los Juanitos Mexican Food, Acapulco Restaurant at 1320 NW 25th St., Yummy Buffet at 215 NE 28th St., Mexican Restaurant Perez, Almas Paleteria at 1215 E. Seminary Drive, Stockyards Hotel at 109 E. Exchange Ave. and Church’s Chicken at 3344 Lackland Road.
Rodent droppings were observed at Szechuan Chinese Restaurant at 5712 Locke Ave. and Cowtown Market at 1701 South Freeway.
