Fort Worth restaurants cited for roaches, flies, improper food temps in health inspections
A Fort Worth restaurant was closed for inadequate refrigeration, but reopened the same day after a follow-up inspection, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
Fort Worth health inspectors visited 56 restaurants from Sept. 11 to 17.
Tacos La Bendicion, at 1150 E. Seminary Drive, was closed for inadequate refrigeration after inspectors observed the walk-in refrigerator holding at 47 degrees on Sept. 17. However, the restaurant reopened the same day after a follow-up inspection found the refrigerator reaching below 40 degrees, which is an effective temperature to cool food products.
Five restaurants received over 30 demerits, meaning that they are required to fix the worst problems immediately an clean up the rest within 48 hours of inspection. One restaurant scored a 30 exactly.
Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet, at 6357 Camp Bowie Blvd. Suite 200, scored a 37 for food items not being held cold or hot enough to consume on Sept. 12. A follow-up inspection on Sept. 15 scored the restaurant at 12 demerits. In Fort Worth inspections, a score of zero is perfect.
JS Burgers N. More, at 905 Throckmorton St., scored a 37 on Sept. 15 for not having cold food items held at the 41 degree threshold.
On Sept. 16, Los Vaqueros at 2629 N. Main St. scored a 37 for a refrigerator temperature higher than 41 degrees and raw meat stored above vegetables.
Joe’s Pizza & Pasta at 8540 S. Hulen St., scored a 36 for food being held at the improper temperature on Sept. 12. A follow-up inspection on Sept. 14 scored Joe’s at 14.
Yummy Buffet at 215 NE. 28th St., on Sept. 13 scored a 36 for storing raw meat near raw vegetables. A follow-up inspection on Sept. 15 scored the restaurant at a 26.
Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken at 7289 S. Hulen St., scored a 30 for storing raw chicken near raw fish and cooked vegetables on Sept. 12. A follow-up inspection on Sept. 14 scored the restaurant a 23.

Lisa’s Chicken & Seafood #3, 3412 Mansfield Highway, was noted that they could get a citation for no sanitizer.
Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken, 7289 S. Hulen St., inspectors observed roaches and flies.
Yummy Buffet, 215 NE. 28th St., roaches were present in mechanical dishwasher, which wasn’t in use and has food debris accumulation.
Chili’s Grill & Bar, 6350 North Freeway, inspectors observed significant gnats in facility.
