Fort Worth Little Caesars Pizza shut down due to insects, mold, unsanitary conditions
A Fort Worth Little Caesars Pizza franchise was shut down during recent health inspections after being cited for “excessive pests and unsanitary conditions.”
Throughout the last week of May, 35 Fort Worth food establishments underwent health inspections. The Little Caesars Pizza, located at 6248 McCart Ave., was the only restaurant to score over 30 demerits, which requires the food establishment to fix the worst problems immediately and clean up the rest within 48 hours.
The pizza spot was temporarily closed on May 25 after scoring a 34 and being cited for mold on containers of liquid crazy bread spread, unsafe food, excessive flies and gnats near the cook and wash area, and employees not washing their hands.
Inspectors also said they saw a roach near a sink. The restaurant was immediately shut down, before reopening the following day after scoring a 23 during its followup.
The establishment still was cited for mold, except this time it was found in garlic parmesan wing sauce, as well as being cited for potentially hazardous food and unclean floors, walls and ceilings.
The Little Caesars, which typically received two inspections per year, was increased to three inspections a year. Health inspectors advised the food establishment to “increase [its] frequency of commercial pest control measures.”
