Inspectors in Fort Worth found 11 restaurants with flies in them during inspections conducted from May 15 to May 21, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.

No restaurants inspected received the more than 30 demerits that would trigger an automatic need for a follow-up inspection, and none were closed.

Two restaurants scored 20 or higher. In Fort Worth, the higher the score, the worse a restaurant did. A score of zero is considered to be perfect.

Beni Mart at 5633 Lovell Ave. scored 22 on May 20 and, on May 18, Market Latina Restaurant at 201 NE 28th St. received a score of 20.

Inspectors found violations at Beni Mart including flies, improperly stored food, residue and debris on the floor and behind the grill area in the kitchen, inadequate hand washing supplies or hand drying supplies at the hand sink and damaged kitchen equipment.

At Market Latina Restaurant, inspectors noted improperly stored food, dirty ceiling tiles throughout the establishment, a damaged reach-in refrigerator and household kitchen equipment in commercial use.

Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Fort Worth for May 15th - May 21st, 2022. Scores are based on a demerit system. When the total exceeds 30, the restaurant must take immediate corrective action on all identified critical violations, then has 48 hours to initiate corrective action on all other violations.
