Roaches, flies found at Fort Worth restaurants during inspections

No Fort Worth restaurants were shut down or given citations in health inspections conducted from May 8 to May 14, but two did have pests including roaches, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill at 1505 S. University Drive had roaches and flies in the building when inspectors visited, and Rice Xpress at 3767 Altamesa Blvd. had a roach in the women’s restroom.

Rice Xpress was also warned that if it cannot follow proper food storage standards it will receive a citation.

No restaurants received perfect scores.

Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Fort Worth for May 8th - May 14th, 2022. Scores are based on a demerit system. When the total exceeds 30, the restaurant must take immediate corrective action on all identified critical violations, then has 48 hours to initiate corrective action on all other violations.
