Two Fort Worth restaurants cited for live roaches in recent health inspections

Although no Fort Worth restaurants were closed or failed recent health inspections, two were cited for roaches.

From April 10-16, 58 food establishments underwent inspections. No restaurant was closed for serious health violations or cited for receiving over 30 demerits, which would require the establishment to fix its worst problems immediately and clean up the rest within 48 hours.

Pizza Patron, located at 4200 South Freeway, and Trinity Terrace, located at 1600 Texas St., were both cited for having live roaches inside the restaurants. The pizza shop scored 14 demerits and Trinity scored 9 on its inspection.

Pizza Patron was also cited for not having a food manager card, which must be obtained or can result in citations.

The worst score was 22 demerits by Ximena’s Taqueria, located at 12400 South Freeway, and which was cited for cross contamination of food, black organic matter inside the ice machine and an employee did not wash their hands after using a mop.

Two other restaurants, Joe’s Italian Pizza Pasta Subs, located at 1601 Park Place Drive, and Cleburne Food Mart, located at 3233 Cleburne Road, both received follow-ups from previous inspections.

Joe’s, after scoring a 33 on April 4, passed with a score of 7 this week. Cleburne Food Mart was closed on April 8 for not having hot water.

Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Fort Worth for April 10th - April 16th, 2022. Scores are based on a demerit system. When the total exceeds 30, the restaurant must take immediate corrective action on all identified critical violations, then has 48 hours to initiate corrective action on all other violations.
