2 Arlington restaurants score poorly in health inspections; 12 require followups

An Arlington Vietnamese restaurant has reopened after closing for a week due to health code violations. In recent inspections, no food establishment was shut down.

From April 3 through April 9, 46 inspections were conducted in Arlington, and two restaurants scored below a 75 on a 100-point system, where 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered extremely poor. Twelve restaurants required followup inspections, but none were closed by city inspectors.

Thuy Nguyen Cafe, located at 100 W. Pioneer Parkway, was shut down on March 31 due to problems with roaches and “grossly unsanitary conditions,” inspectors said. The restaurant was required to hire an exterminator and reopened on Friday after being shut down for a week.

A 7-Eleven convenience store, located at 205 S. Collins St., and Eso Mimosa Bar, located at 2150 E. Lamar Blvd., both scored a 72 in their recent inspections. The City of Arlington does not list the specific violations in its database.

Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Arlington for April 3rd - April 9th, 2022. A score of 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered to be extremely poor. Reinspections will be conducted for restaurants that score 75 or less. If serious health and sanitation violations are considered an imminent health hazard, the restaurant will be closed until the identified health hazard has been mitigated.
