Fort Worth restaurants cited for improper food storage, mold in recent health inspections
No Fort Worth restaurants were closed after recent health inspections but one required a followup inspection.
Panda Bandido Asian Restaurant, located at 3043 South Freeway, scored a 30. Any food establishment with a score over 30 demerits is required to fix the worst problems immediately and clean up the rest of its violations within 48 hours.
Some of Panda Bandido’s violations included food cross-contamination, an employee not washing their hands and improper food storage. Upon its followup on Tuesday, the restaurant scored a 23.
Forty-six food establishments were inspected from March 20 through March 26. None of the 46 were required to shut down.
Bosses Pizza Wings & Burgers, located at 2740 Western Center Blvd., scored a 29 in its inspection, with citations for cross-contamination, improper food contact surface that wasn’t cleaned before use or storage, and an employee handling dough without gloves.
Three other restaurants scored in the high 20s: Dos Molinas, located at 404 NW 25th St, with a score of 27; Sushi Axiom Hibachi & Bar, located at 12650 South Freeway, with a score of 26; and Prima Pasta and Pizza, located at 6108 S. Hulen St., with a score of 25.
All of the food establishments with high scores near 30 faced violations of food cross-contamination. Additionally, Dos Molinas was cited for improper internal temperature in its potatoes and meat, and foods, including yellow bell peppers at Sushi Axiom were observed to have mold.
