2 Fort Worth restaurants close due to serious problems found in health inspections
Two Fort Worth restaurants were temporarily shut down by city health inspectors after they were found to have insufficient hot water supply in inspections conducted from March 6 to March 12, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
Yogi’s Bagel Cafe at 2710 S. Hulen St., which scored a 21 in its March 9 inspection, and Ronnie’s Catfish No. 6 at 4158 E. Rosedale St., which scored a 14 on its March 9 inspection, both closed due to a lack of hot water.
Yogi’s said it was only closed for about an hour to fix the water heater and then were able to reopen after water temperatures were back up to an acceptable level and there are plans to put in extra measures to make sure hot water temperatures don’t drop and cause problems again.
In Fort Worth, a perfect restaurant inspection score is a 0. Any restaurant that scores higher than 30 on the demerit system is required to immediately fix the worst problems and clean up the rest within 48 hours.
No restaurants scored higher than 30 in this round of inspections, but East Gourmet at 6080 S. Hulen St. scored an 11 in a March 7 followup inspection required after scoring a 32 on March 3.
The three highest scores recorded from March 6 to March 12 were Quick Wok Chinese Restaurant at 7800 Crowley Road on March 10; Super Pollo at 805 N. Sylvania Ave. on March 9; and American Legion Post No. 516 at 6801 Manhattan Blvd.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, perfect scores were achieved by Flower Child at 1616 S. University Drive, Italy Express at 4200 South Freeway and Keto Kitchen Creations at 9500 Ray White Road.
