A Fort Worth Sonic Drive-In closed for insects, other health violations after inspection
One restaurant closed out of the 73 health inspections in Fort Worth between Sept. 5-11.
Sonic Drive-In at 117 Sycamore School Road closed on Sept. 6 for serious health violations. Dirty food contact surfaces, insects, and employees with incomplete food handler accreditation were among the infractions, according to city data compiled by the Star-Telegram.
None of the inspected restaurants received over 30 points; restaurants with scores over 30 are required to fix the worst violations immediately and clean up the rest within 48 hours.
The three highest scores were La Nueva de Zacatecas at 3700 Decatur Ave., Ronnie’s Catfish at 4158 E. Rosedale St. and Thai Rice and Noodle at 9094 Camp Bowie West Blvd.
La Nueva de Zacatecas had 29 infractions, which included improper labeling of chemicals in the food area and broken glass in the walk-in cooler.
Household plastic containers were used to store food in Ronnie’s Catfish, which scored 25, and food in the cooler was not covered.
Thai Rice and Noodle scored 25 for food unprotected from cross-contamination, improperly thawed food and improper food storage.
There were two perfect scores recorded, Baylor Scott and White Surgical Hospital at 1800 Park Place Ave. and Taco Bell on 1701 California Parkway.
