‘Disney on Ice’ a skating sing-along
What it is: Mickey Mouse and some of his favorite Disney character friends come together for an ice skating extravaganza filled with music, skating and one death-defying stunt.
What kids will like: Children love these shows because they can dress up as princes and princesses and be dazzled by their favorite Disney characters who come to life in front of their eyes on the ice skating rink. If you’ve been to a Disney on Ice show before, you’ll notice that the story elements change from show to show. Reach for the Stars starts out with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy and friends introducing the show with ’80s pop favorites including “We Got the Beat.” Then, it’s mini storytelling versions on ice of The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast and Frozen.
What parents will like: Nothing says the holidays like watching a room full of youngsters spontaneously burst into songs such as “Let It Go.” It’s truly magical moments. Plus, Ariel does some a spectacular aerial stunt at the beginning of the show.
Recommended for: All ages; anyone who loves Disney.
Good to know: Bundle up or bring a blanket. Temps are cool inside the ice skating show.
