Season 1 of ‘Dutton Ranch’ is over. See all of its North Texas filming locations
“Dutton Ranch” filmed its first season all across North Texas.
The Paramount+ show follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler on a new adventure in the fictional South Texas town of Rio Paloma. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their “Yellowstone” roles, along with Finn Little as their adopted son Carter.
Since “Dutton Ranch” was made in the area, several Fort Worth and other North Texas locations popped in the show’s nine-episode first season, which wrapped up on July 3.
The Star-Telegram covered all the locations and references in each episode this season, and has put together all those entries into the very story you’re reading.

Episode 1: ‘The Untold Want’
Ferris home
At 22:32, Beulah (Annette Bening) arrives home to look for Rob-Will (Jai Courtney).
Beulah’s house is the former home of the late Ray Wallace, CEO of Dallas-based Trinity Industries. The home is located in Ferris, Texas, about 20 miles south of downtown Dallas.
Boyd Feed Store
At 23:40, Rip (Hauser) and Azul (J.R. Villarreal) stop at a feed store.
This was filmed at an actual feed store in Boyd at 205 Dunlap Ave.
Cactus Ropes
At 23:50, Rip and Azul chat about Texas.
Azul is wearing a hat from Cactus Ropes, which is rope making company located in Pleasanton, Texas.
Mineral Wells gas station
At 24:54, Rip and Azul stop for gas.
This was filmed at a Tommy’s gas station in Mineral Wells at 4766 Farm-to-Market Road 1195.
Kimes Ranch
At 27:30, Carter (Finn Little) eats lunch at school.
Carter is wearing a hat from Kimes Ranch, which is headquartered in Arizona but has a storefront in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
Edwards Ranch
At 28:40, Beth (Kelly Reilly) meets Beulah at her office. Beulah tells her that she bought the Edwards Ranch, which Beth says has been renamed the Dutton Ranch.
While this ranch is fictional, there was a family-owned Edwards Ranch in Fort Worth that spanned 7,000 acres. Founded in 1848, the land has since been developed into neighborhoods and commercial developments, including The Shops at Clearfork.
Roughnecks
At 31:07, Beth stops for a drink at Split Heart Bar.
This was filmed at Roughnecks, an actual bar and grill in Rio Vista (103 Depot St.). The venue hosted a watch party for the series premiere.
E.M. Daggett Middle School
At 37:17, Carter leaves high school for the day.
While set at Rio Paloma High School, this was filmed at Fort Worth’s E.M. Daggett Middle School (1108 Carlock St.).
King Street Productions paid Fort Worth ISD $33,100 for access to the property across eight days, according to rental agreement obtained by the Star-Telegram through a public information request. The production company was specifically approved to use the school’s auditorium, locker rooms, gym, cafeteria, parking lots, front of the school and room 101.
Reunion Grounds
At 39:42, Carter arrives at the Rio Paloma rodeo.
This was filmed at Reunion Grounds in Granbury at 641 Reunion Court.
Episode 2: ‘Earn Another Day’
Western Inn
The episode opens with Rip at a motel in Dillon, Montana.
This was filmed at Western Inn in Cleburne at 1411 E. Henderson St
Harriet Sansom Harris
At 3:15, Rip and Beth meet with ranch owner Jeanie Edwards (Harriet Sansom Harris).
Jeanie is played by Fort Worth native Harriet Sansom Harris. The 71-year-old actress has nearly 100 film and television credits to her name, including roles in “Frasier,” “Memento,” “Licorice Pizza,” “Phantom Thread,” “The Agency” and “Werewolf by Night.”
Johnson County Livestock Exchange
At 6:35, Beth and Rip are at a livestock auction.
This was filmed at the Johnson County Livestock Exchange in Cleburne at 3119 N. Main St.
H-E-B
At 10:53, a box of “Rich & Crisp Crackers” from H-E-B are seen on the counter in the 10-Petal Ranch bunkhouse.
H-E-B is a Texas-founded company based in San Antonio. The grocery chain has more than 400 stores across Texas and Mexico.
Johnson County Jail
At 11:30, Rip picks up Zachariah (Marc Menchaca) from jail.
This was filmed outside the Johnson County Jail in Cleburne at 1800 Ridgemar Drive.
Hamilton Meats
At 24:04, Beth and Everett (Ed Harris) arrive at a butcher shop.
This was filmed at an actual butcher shop, Hamilton Meats, in Weatherford at 1410 Clear Lake Road.
Cassidy Daniels
At 39:55, Rip and Beth meet Everett at Split Heart Bar.
The musician playing at the bar is Cassidy Daniels, who was a finalist on Taylor Sheridan’s music competition series “The Road.”
“The Road” follows 12 emerging musicians as they compete as opening acts for Keith Urban at music venues across the country. The show’s first episode is set in the Fort Worth Stockyards at Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall.
Episode 3: ‘Act of God Business’
Watts Chapel United Methodist Church and Cemetery
At 7:25, Beulah gives a eulogy at a funeral.
This was filmed at Watts Chapel United Methodist Church and Cemetery in Grandview at 6924 County Road 308. The property is named after the family of Nathaniel Franklin Watts (1851-1919), who settled in Johnson County in 1872, according to the Texas Historical Commission. The location landed a historical marker in 1992.
Tavern on the Lake
At 12:44, Carter arrives at a restaurant to meet Oreana (Natalie Alyn Lind).
This was filmed in Weatherford at Tavern on the Lake at 210 W. Lake Drive. The restaurant is known for its “stuffed” burgers and funnel-cake stick “fries,” according to Star-Telegram reporter Bud Kennedy.
Hotel Swexan and Stillwell’s
At 16 minutes, Beth arrives at Hotel Swexan in Dallas for a meeting.
This was filmed at the actual Hotel Swexan in Dallas located at 2575 McKinnon St. The hotel opened its doors in 2023.
Stillwell’s, a steakhouse located inside the hotel, also makes an appearance in the same sequence. The restaurant offered a “Dutton Ranch”-themed tasting menu as the show aired that included multiple courses inspired by the “bold flavors of Texas ranch country.”
Episode 4: ‘Start with a Bullet’
Hitt Street Self-Storage
At 8:20, Carter drives by a storage facility on his way to a feed store.
This was filmed in front of Hitt Street Self-Storage in Boyd at 300 N. Hitt St. The storage facility is a stone’s throw from the Boyd Feed Store, which appears in this episode and the series premiere.
Teskey’s
In the same sequence, Carter talks to a rancher about working for him.
The rancher is wearing a hat with a Teskey’s Saddle Shop logo. Teskey’s is a Weatherford-based (3001 W. Interstate 20) retailer specializing in all kinds of Western apparel and supplies, including clothes, boots, saddles and animal care. “Landman” star Michelle Randolph told the Star-Telegram that she stopped by the store while shooting the show in the area.
Downtown Cleburne
At 10:17, Beth drives through town while calling a vet.
This was filmed in downtown Cleburne, where several murals on the exterior wall of The Garden of Eating Bistro can be seen.
Alpine, Texas
At 13:41, Carter is seen working for Dwight (Ray McKinnon).
Dwight mentions that he’s from Alpine, which is a small West Texas town with a population of just over 6,000 people.
Rowlett’s Hardware
At 21:20, Azul and Zachariah stop by a hardware store for supplies.
This was filmed at Rowlett’s Hardware in Grandview at 102 S. Louisiana St. There’s a quick shot of 254 Kettle Korn, LLC in the same scene.
Episode 5: ‘Peaceful Find Peace’
Saunders Ranch
The episode opens with Beth and Rip at their ranch.
The location has appeared throughout the show and is filmed at the Saunders Ranch in Weatherford (4400 Old Dennis Road). Established in 1934, the ranch is still operating today under the leadership of Thomas Saunders V. The Saunders family has been raising cattle in Texas since the 1850s.
Texas A&M
At 3:09, Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba) is seen wearing a Texas A&M shirt.
Texas A&M is located in College Station, about 175 miles south of Fort Worth. Marc Menchaca, who plays Zachariah, graduated with an English degree from the school in 1998.
La Mirage Inn
At 49:08, Rob-Will visits Chet (Hart Denton) at a motel.
This was filmed in west Fort Worth at La Mirage Inn (9600 Palo Pinto Road).
Episode 6: ‘A Cowboy Saint’
Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport
At 9:40, Beulah arrives at a private airport.
This was filmed in north Fort Worth at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Scenes for “Lioness” and “Landman” have also been filmed at the airport.
KPMG Plaza at Hall Arts
At 13:55, Beth and Beulah arrive for a meeting in Chicago.
This was filmed at KPMG Plaza at Hall Arts in downtown Dallas. The 18-story building is located inside Dallas’ Arts District.
Lake Weatherford
At 14:17, Carter and Oreana go fishing.
This was filmed at Lake Weatherford. A restaurant located right off the lake appeared in episode 3.
Wild Bill’s Western Store
At 17:49, Joaquin arrives at a Western store to buy a cowboy hat.
This was filmed in Dallas at Wild Bill’s Western Store (311 N. Market St.). The store has been open since 1971.
Walloon’s
At 32:21, Beth and Beulah have dinner at a Chicago restaurant.
This was filmed in Fort Worth at Walloon’s (701 W. Magnolia Ave.). The restaurant opened in 2023 and serves a variety of seafood options.
Episode 7: ‘Den of Sin’
Billy Bob’s Texas
The episode opens with a young Beulah (Rebeca Robles) going to Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth. Beulah’s visit is in August 1981, which is just a few months after the venue opened that April.
Billy Bob’s is known as “The World’s Largest Honky Tonk” and has 100,000 square feet of entertainment. There’s more than 30 bar stations, a bull-riding area, a Texas-sized dance floor and a stage that’s welcomed some of the biggest names in country music.
Six Flags Over Texas
At 3:21, Beulah talks to a guy who says he’s a “mechanic for the Shock Wave” at Six Flags.
The Shock Wave coaster was introduced in 1978 and is still rolling to this day at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington.
Fredericksburg
At 17 minutes, Oreana’s new boyfriend Harrison (Matthew Erick White) mentions he’s working on a new construction project in Fredericksburg.
Fredericksburg is a city located in Central Texas that was founded by German immigrants in 1846.
Episode 8: ‘Whiskey Limits’
Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association
At 6:37, a sign for the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is seen in the background while Rip and Beth chat on the porch of their ranch.
The Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is a trade organization for cattle raisers and landowners. Founded in 1877, the association is the largest and oldest livestock organization in Texas. The association’s headquarters are located in Fort Worth on South Hulen Street.
USMD Hospital at Arlington
At 7:23, Joaquin greets Oreana and Everett at the hospital as they wait for an update on Beulah’s condition.
This was filmed at USMD Hospital at Arlington at 801 W. Interstate 20.
The Far Empty
At 19:48, Everett reads a book as Beulah wakes up. Everett’s reading choice is the 2016 book “The Far Empty” by author J. Todd Scott, who is a writer and producer on “Dutton Ranch.”
The modern Western book is set in the West Texas borderlands as an unearthed skeleton throws a small town into violent turmoil. “The Far Empty” is described as “dark, elegiac and violent.”
Scott is a former DEA agent turned author who also dabbles in screenwriting, including stints on “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” and “Dutton Ranch.” Scott’s latest project, “Copperhead,” is a film he co-wrote with “Dutton Ranch” season 1 showrunner Chad Feehan that will star Miles Teller and follow the aftermath of a busted drug deal in West Texas.
Allison Pistorius
At 26:55, a doctor comes looking for Beulah as she and Everett sneak out of the hospital.
The doctor is played by Dallas native Allison Pistorius, who previously worked with the Dallas Theater Center and was an adjunct theatre professor at TCU and the University of North Texas. Pistorius made her feature film debut in “Tempest,” which just premiered at the Dances with Films Los Angeles Festival last month. She currently serves as the head of the bachelor of fine arts in acting program at the University of Houston.
Texas Zoofari Park
At 38:48, Carter meets up with Sheriff Wade (Josh Stewart) at Dwight’s ranch. Carter asks about Dwight’s jaguar Xena, to which Wade says she’s at that “Texas Zoofari Park down in Kaufman.”
Wade is referring to the actual Texas Zoofari Park in Kaufman, Texas, which is about 80 miles east of Fort Worth. Folks can see hundreds of animals at the drive-thru style zoo.
Screwworm
At 40:40, Austin (Sterlin English) tells Beth, Rip and Zachariah about the 10-Petal’s corruption and the illegal cattle operation in Mexico.
“Something’s always felt off,” Austin said. “Like the way they still brought in big cattle loads after the border got shut down ‘cause of screwworm.”
If the term “screwworm” sounds familiar, that’s because the new world screwworm fly was detected in several Texas counties in June.
The new world screwworm is a parasitic fly that lays eggs in the fresh wounds of warm-blooded animals, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. The larvae then feed on the animal’s flesh and cause severe wounds and even death if untreated.
Episode 9: ‘El Padrino’
La Palmilla Texas Hotel
At 4:44, Mariano Reyes (Raoul Max Trujillo) attends a christening in Mexico.
This was filmed at the Casa Del Rey Chapel, which is part of the La Palmilla Texas Hotel in Nemo, Texas, just outside of Glen Rose. The La Palmilla is a Spanish Colonial-inspired luxury resort with dining and other amenities.
Landmark Lodge
At 6:29, Joaquin arrives at a motel and waits on his father Mariano to show up.
This was filmed at Landmark Lodge, a west Fort Worth motel located at 7501 Camp Bowie W. Blvd.
Fort Worth Police Department’s West Division
At 17 minutes, Beth pleads with Sheriff Wade at the Rio Paloma Sheriff’s Office to find Carter.
This was filmed at the Fort Worth Police Department’s West Division station at 3525 Marquita Drive. Scenes were filmed at the building in early March, according to an April bulletin from the division.
H-E-B
At 27:43, Carter and Oreana chat about their future as they sip on some soda.
The soda in question is H-E-B’s original cola, which is made with pure cane sugar as the outside of the can states. This is the second time an H-E-B product popped up in show.
The Oasis Bar and Grill
At 37:12, Mariano arrives at a bar and awaits word of his men killing Beth and Rip.
This was filmed at The Oasis Bar and Grill in Midlothian at 4720 Ruby Ave.
Cleburne
At 40:30, Beth drives through Rio Paloma looking for Carter.
This was filmed on South Main Street in Cleburne. Cleburne has popped up a few times in the show this season, including a hotel and the downtown area.
