Universal Kids Resort officially has a grand opening date. How to get tickets
Families can get ready to hang out with Shrek in his swamp and Spongebob in Bikini Bottom starting this summer.
Universal Kids Resort announced on Thursday, May 28 that the park in Frisco will officially open on July 1.
The 97-acre park will feature character-themed lands with rides and a 300-room hotel that looks like a Lego building. While anyone can attend, the theme park is targeted towards young children and their families.
The park is opening east of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Panther Creek Parkway, near the Omni PGA Frisco resort.
So whether you chose to stay in the Universal Kids Resort hotel or the neighboring Omni, here’s how to get tickets for the grand opening.
Tickets for Universal Kids Resort in Frisco
Universal Kids Resort sells one-day, two-day and annual passes.
- 1-day General Admission: $54.99 per person
- 2-day General Admission: $73.99 per person
- Annual Pass: $129.99 for a year of general admission
- Annual Pass with parking: $164.99 for year of general admission and a parking pass
General admission tickets are still available for the grand opening on July 1.
Stay at the Universal Kids Resort hotel
To book the hotel at Universal Kids Resort, you can call or book online. It is recommended to reserve accommodations ahead of time.
A standard queen room with a queen bed and twin and full bed bunk starts at $340 per night.
In addition to queen rooms, there is also a family suite option with a private King room, bunk beds and a queen-sized pull-out with a kitchenette. This accommodation starts at $490 per night.
Hotel rates may vary depending on the time you visit Universal Kids Resort.
If the resort hotel is booked, you might try the neighboring Omni, which is offering a Dude Perfect-themed room fixed with bunk beds, basketball hoops, Nerf guns and a PlayStation setup until the end of the year.
What is Universal Kids Resort?
The theme park is made up of seven lands centered around iconic children’s characters:
Guests will first enter through the “Isle of Curiosity” where they can meet with Gabby from the Netflix show, “Gabby’s Dollhouse.”
In DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, families can meet with Shrek and Fiona, as well as play in the interactive Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp and Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash.
DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar will have carnival games and the opportunity to meet with the cat himself and other characters from “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.”
In the Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club portion, families will be entertained by the Minions’ fight against their purple counterparts.
Jurassic World Adventure Camp will feature newly hatched baby dinosaurs and several lookout towers to enjoy a view of the whole resort.
More play areas will be in DreamWorks’ TrollsFest as well as the opportunity to meet the colorful “Trolls” stars, Poppi, Branch and more.
And finally, more water parks and characters will be in Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom.
