‘Frisco King’ filming in Southlake will mean more road closures. What to know
“Frisco King” film crews are returning to Southlake next week for shooting more scenes in the Taylor Sheridan eight-episode Paramount+ television series starring Samuel L. Jackson.
Jackson plays Russel Lee Washington Jr., a hitman who ran into Sylvester Stallone’s character Dwight Manfredi in “Tulsa King” and was inspired to start his own crime ring. Jackson also appeared in the final two episodes of the third season of “Tulsa King.”
Filming in Southlake on May 11-13 will continue near the west side of the city along Players Circle, according to the Southlake Department of Public Safety. The production will cause road closures.
Traffic will be paused intermittently along FM 1709 between Randol Mill/Davis Boulevard and Peytonville. Parts of Players Circle will also be closed, and businesses in the area have been notified. Southlake DPS and city departments will work to keep the traffic flowing and limit disruptions, according to the department.
“These brief, rolling closures will occur throughout the day to support filming activities while avoiding rush hour traffic,” the department’s statement read.
Police have asked those traveling around the area to plan for delays and try alternative routes if possible.
Previous filming took place at Southlake Town Center on April 22, with road closures along East Southlake Boulevard between Central and Carroll avenues, as well as parts of State Street and Fountain Place within Southlake Town Square.
On April 22, filming took place at the newly renovated Keller Sports Park, and at the Tarrant County Courthouse on April 27.
The show will continue to film in Fort Worth, Plano, Dallas, Frisco, Keller, Denton for the next few months.
