Taylor Sheridan brings Hollywood to Southlake with filming of ‘Frisco King’
Filming for Taylor Sheridan’s new series “Frisco King,” a Paramount+ television series, is coming to Southlake April 22 with production preparation starting the night of April 21.
The eight episode series stars Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a hitman, who meets “Tulsa Kings” Sylvester Stallone’s character Dwight Manfredi in prison, and wants to follow in his criminal underworld footsteps. Jackson appeared in the last episodes of “Tulsa Kings.”
In March, Southlake Mayor Shawn McCaskill, posted on Facebook about the series coming to his city.
“Great to meet Logan Cooper and Dustin Daniels from Paramount TV to welcome this show and their team to Southlake,” McCaskill said in the post.
Southlake residents and visitors can expect traffic and parking changes, especially around Southlake Town Square.
The City said intermittent closures will happen along FM 1709 between Central Avenue and Carroll Avenue, as well as parts of State Street and Fountain Place within the Southlake Town Square. Also, the parking area behind Del Frisco’s will be closed for production staging.
“Motorists and visitors to Town Square should plan for alternate routes and expect delays,” the Southlake Department of Public Safety said in a social media post.
Filming for the series is taking place across North Texas, including in Dallas, Frisco, Plano, and Fort Worth at the Tarrant County Commissioners Courthouse.
No release date has been announced for the series.
