Here’s a first look at Taylor Sheridan’s North Texas-filmed ‘Frisco King’
A first look at Taylor Sheridan’s “Tulsa King” spinoff has been revealed.
“Frisco King” began production in Fort Worth in late March. Previously titled “NOLA King,” the Paramount+ series was originally supposed to be set and made in New Orleans, but is now a North Texas production.
The eight-episode Paramount+ series stars Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a hitman who crossed paths with Sylvester Stallone’s “Tulsa King” character Dwight Manfredi. Jackson appeared in the final two episodes of the show’s third season last year.
On Wednesday, April 15, Stallone posted a photo online of him and Jackson on the set of “Frisco King,” alongside director Christina Alexandra Voros.
“From one king to another. ‘Frisco King’ is now in production!” the post’s caption reads.
Stallone teases ‘Frisco King’
“Frisco King” counts Stallone as an executive producer, and if this photo is any clue, he will also appear in the series.
While “Frisco King” began filming in North Texas last month, the show recently took a trip to Atlanta to film scenes, according to casting calls from Georgia-based companies. This was likely to film scenes with Stallone, since “Tulsa King” has been filming its fourth season in Atlanta since November 2025.
In addition, fellow “Tulsa King” actor Jay Will posted a photo last week of himself with Stallone and Jackson on set.

Sheridan is writing every episode of “Frisco King” himself.
The series will film in Fort Worth, Plano, Dallas, Frisco, Keller, Denton and Southlake through July. In addition to Jackson and Stallone, “Frisco King” will star Kai Caster, Asa Germann, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann.
No release date has been set for the series.
