Here’s why these two North Texas towns made the list of best Halloween cities in the state

The Metroplex may not seem like it, but its one of the spookiest areas in the whole Lone Star State.

As Halloween approaches, a list from the family blog The Spring Break Family outlined some of the best cities in Texas for their ghoulish attractions. Both Fort Worth and Arlington made the spine-chilling list.

Here’s why these two North Texas towns are so spooky:

Haunted Fort Worth

Cowtown’s list of haunted houses and ghost tours are why it made the list.

Fort Worth is home to several popular haunted houses such as Cutting Edge and Hangman’s House of Horror. Both haunts are open now and a Star-Telegram’s guide will show what each experience brings.

The Stockyard ghost tour was another highlight on The Spring Break Family list, as it gives visitors a hair-raising tour of old Fort Worth. The 90-minute ghost walking tour costs $25 a ticket.

For the young pumpkins at home, the Fort Worth Zoo’s “Boo at the Zoo” is a fun experience that includes trick-or-treating, carnival games and food. Boo at the Zoo is from Oct. 27-29 and zoo admission counts as your ticket in.

Frightful Arlington

Arlington’s theme park heavy presence is why its on the list.

Six Flags Over Texas is a regular adrenaline-pumping experience, but things get a little spooky this time of the year. Fright Fest is the annual Halloween season event put on by Six Flags, that brings scare zones and haunted houses to the park.

All October, guests can purchase Fright Fest tickets to see what everyone’s screaming about.
