The show must go on! ‘Hamilton’ at Bass Hall on Friday is happening despite perilous freeze
Update: Bass Hall announced that Friday’s performance of “Hamilton” will occur as scheduled.
Thursday night’s performance of “Hamilton” at Bass Performance Hall was canceled because of weather-related issues.
The deep freeze that hit the area Wednesday left most North Texas roads under a sheet of ice, and prevented much of the cast from reaching the downtown venue.
A Bass Hall press release announcing the cancellation was sent at 7 p.m. It said the touring company of “Hamilton” was “unable to secure enough cast for tonight’s performance.”
“At this time, all future performances of HAMILTON at Bass Performance Hall are scheduled to go on as planned,” according to the release.
But the temperature isn’t expected to warm up above freezing until Saturday afternoon.
Driving to and from downtown on Friday night is likely to be dangerous as declining temperatures refreeze any melted ice from earlier on Friday.
If you purchased tickets for Thursday’s performance through the Bass Hall website or Bass Hall box office, no action is necessary. A refund for the face value of your tickets, including processing fees, will be sent to your original method of payment. Refunds should post within 30 business days.
Email the Bass Hall box office at boxoffice@basshall.com if your card information has changed or if you have concerns regarding your refund. Tickets purchased through third parties require contacting the point of purchase.
