The Bachelor week 2 recap: What happened with Dallas’ Rebekah Garrett this week?

Season 29, Episode 2

Spoiler alert: Sometimes there are things you just don’t want to know, at least not yet. If you’re a true “Bachelor” fan and you haven’t watched Episode 2, don’t read this yet. Come back. We’ll be here when you’re ready.

For our second week of Bachelor Mondays, we will find out if our Dallas nurse made it through to another week.

Rebekah Garrett met the Bachelor Grant Ellis in last week’s episode. The two were not shown interacting much, but he noticed her enough to give her a rose, securing her another week of TV time.

Rebekah was still holding her rose at the beginning of the Feb. 3 episode, saying, “This is my manifestation that I get to see him soon!”

So does our Dallas star make it to week three?

The North Texas contestant made a few appearances in tonight’s episode. Here’s what we saw.

Did Rebekah get to go on a date?

Tonight’s episode featured the first one-on-one date with Grant and contestant Alexe Godin, who also received the first impression rose. There were also two group dates, where multiple women all compete for the Bachelor’s attention.

In the first group date, the women joined Grant in a game of basketball. Rebekah was not present for this one, so she did not get to shoot her shot.

However, our Dallas star was featured on the second date, where she ran and jumped in Grant’s arms to greet him – in front of six other women.

On the date, the women had to write their own R&B song in honor of Grant AND perform it in front of a live audience.

Some girls pulled out their best moves by doing the splits or giving Grant a kiss.

Rebekah had a move of her own to stand out. She walked up to Grant with a red rose hanging on her hip, singing “Brown-eyed boy take me away, let’s get engaged, give me a baby,” in a pretty decent singing voice. As she turned around, “MRS ELLIS” was written in fat black Sharpie on her back.

Despite all that, she did not win the date’s competition. Instead, Carolina from Puerto Rico won and got a one-on-one dance with Grant, where she straddled him and kissed him in front of everyone else. This made the rest of the girls abuzz with jealousy.

After the date

Later that night during cocktail hour, Grant pulled Rebekah to talk first. He wanted to hear her thoughts on the group date. She explained to him that group dates are hard (considering she watched him make out with another woman) but she’s there for him no matter what.

Rebekah then told the girls what the two talked about, spurring a conversation between Carolina and the rest of the ladies where Carolina justified her winning kiss as “taking advantage of the moment.”

Getting a rose from the date means the women enter the night’s rose ceremony “stress free.” Rebekah did not get a rose. Instead, Grant gave the date rose to Litia from Salt Lake City.

Did Rebekah get a rose?

Grant told the ladies: “If you don’t receive a rose tonight, don’t take it personal.”

He called out names one by one, but I am sad to report that Rebekah’s name was not one of them .

Rebekah told Grant “thank you” as she left.

Out of 18 women, four did not receive a rose Feb. 3, causing them to go home. The women who got eliminated were:

  • Rebekah

  • Allyshia

  • Ella

  • Vicky
