2 Texas cities are most-searched vacation spots. Here’s where Texans want to go for summer
Texans are attracted to white sand beaches or casinos for their vacation destination of choice, a study finds.
Cloudwards, a software and privacy tools company, recently conducted a survey that dove into Google search data focused on vacation travel. They found that Texans search Cancun and Las Vegas the most.
Overall, Americans search London and Cancun the most, both with 18 states most interested in them. However, the study also found that Americans like to travel within the U.S. Texas hosts two popular tourist destinations. People from Louisiana show interest in Houston, while people from Oklahoma are drawn to Dallas.
Other U.S. states also have some unique attractions. Kansas searches for Singapore, Georgia for Tulum, Connecticut, and New Hampshire for Bermuda, and South Carolina for Florence. California and Hawaii travel preferences are both for Tokyo, which Cloudwards says, “hints at a shared fascination with the dynamic culture and energy of Asian cities.”
Las Vegas, Texas’ main attraction for domestic travel, is also 13 other state’s choice. Boston and Chicago are in second, and Denver, Panama City Beach, and Miami wrap up the top five domestic destinations.
Cloudwards believes Texas and others chose Cancun for international travel because of, “Cancún’s beautiful, sun-soaked beaches and vibrant nightlife.” And London for, “cooler weather and historical allure.” Vancouver Island follows these destinations in third place with three states most interested.
