Background actors wanted for ‘The Chosen.’ Filming begins in North Texas this summer

A show about the life of Jesus Christ is looking for background actors for filming this summer in North Texas.

The casting notice comes from local agency Brock Allen Casting for the biblical drama, “The Chosen.” The series follows the life of Jesus and the people who knew him.

Brock Allen is looking for a variety of background actors who will feature in production planned for Midlothian in June and July on the biblical drama’s fifth season.

One call is for male and female stand-in actors with “olive skin tone” ranging between 5 feet 4 inches to 6 feet 2 inches.

Another casting call is for extras who look like actors on the show. Specifically, the notice is for 40- to 60-year-old men who look like the actors below.

To apply for any of the background roles, the agency is asking people to email them at thechosenbacasting@gmail.com.

The email should include the following information:

  • Full name.
  • Contact number.
  • Availability.
  • City of residence.
  • Height/weight.
  • Clothing sizes in jacket, shirt, dress, pants and shoes.
  • Two recent color photos, one headshot and one full length photo.
  • Any past acting experience.

“The Chosen” is from creator Dallas Jenkins and debuted in 2017.

The series first three seasons are available to stream on Prime Video and Hulu, while the fourth season is slated to release on streaming sometime this year.
