George Lopez stops at Will Rogers for ‘OMG Hi’ tour
Kick back and enjoy plenty of laughs as actor/comedian George Lopez brings his “OMG Hi!” comedy tour to Will Rogers Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Lopez is beloved for his “George Lopez” TV show, which aired from 2002 to 2007. Lopez portrayed a fictionalized version of himself in the comedy series, which revolved around his family and drew upon many of his real life experiences while growing up in the San Fernando Valley near Los Angeles.
At the time, the Mexican American comic became one of the few Latinos to star in a TV sitcom. Lopez was also the co-creator, writer and producer of the ABC show.
Lopez also has acted in “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl,” “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” and his latest TV comedy “Lopez vs. Lopez,” in which he works with his real-life daughter, Mayan Lopez.
Lopez, now 61, has spent many years before and since working stand-up. His comedy often explores race relations and focuses on Latino culture.
The “OMG Hi!” tour shares the name of Lopez’s podcast, which includes celebrity guests and call-in listeners.
Lopez is scheduled to play back-to-back shows at Will Rogers, one at 8 p.m. and the second at 10 p.m. Tickets start at $49. Go to ticketmaster.com.
