Get your laugh on for wickedly funny musical ‘Mean Girls’ as Broadway comes to Bass Hall
Treat yourself to some comic relief when the hilarious musical “Mean Girls” arrives at Bass Performance Hall straight out of Broadway.
“Mean Girls,” adapted from the popular 2004 film of the same name, recounts the story of Cady Heron and her family moving to a Chicago suburb from Kenya.
Cady struggles to fit in to the ruthless social scene, led by Regina George (the “Queen Bee”) and her sidekicks. Cady devises a scheme to end Regina’s reign, but she and many others end up getting hurt before they make up and are able to accept each other for their differences in the end.
Tina Fey, who wrote the original screenplay for the movie, also penned the book for this hit musical. The award-winning creative team also includes composer Jeff Richmond (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), lyricist Nell Benjamin (“Legally Blonde”) and director Casey Nicholaw (“The Book of Mormon”).
“Mean Girls” does include subject matter that may not be appropriate for young children, including teenage partying, adult humor and mature language.
Performances are scheduled from July 26-31, with two showings on Saturday and Sunday, July 30-31. Tickets start at $55.
