What to do in Fort Worth area this weekend: Stock Show and Rodeo, Kid Rock and more

Here are some events and activities going on this weekend in the Fort Worth area.

1. Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo parade - CANCELED

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo parade, scheduled for Saturday, was canceled due to strong winds predicted for the area.

City officials and organizers with the Stock Show & Rodeo canceled the parade in consideration of “the safety risk to spectators and participants.”

2. Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

  • When: Jan. 14 through Feb. 5
  • Where: Will Rogers Memorial Center on 3401 W Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth
  • How much: General admission $12 adults, $6 ages 6-16, free for ages 5 and under
  • Buy tickets: Purchase general admission tickets at any gate

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo returns to town Friday after it was canceled in 2021 due to COVID. From livestock shows to carnival rides to shopping Western goods, this “legendary” event offers plenty of fun for the whole family.

3. Kid Rock at Billy Bob’s

When: Friday, Jan. 14, 10 p.m.

Where: 2520 Rodeo Plaza

How much: $200-$300

Doors open at 6 p.m. with the House Band at 8 p.m. and the rocker taking the stage at 10.

4. MLK Jr. Day of Service Family Fun Day and Donation Drop-Off

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Where: The Ranch House at 3534 E. Berry St., Fort Worth
  • How much: Free, pre-registration requested for activities

The National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum will host a day of activities including games, face painting and a rock climbing wall. Participants are asked to donate adult and children socks, gloves, knit caps and blankets to the event, which will have a collection drop-off. Free refreshments will be provided. Register on eventbrite.com by searching the event name. The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade has been canceled due to COVID-19.

5. Arlington Yoga Center Brunch and Yoga

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Where: The Sanford House Inn & Spa, 506 N. Center St., Arlington
  • How much: limited tickets at $20
  • Buy tickets: Arlington Yoga Center’s Facebook or eventbrite.com pages

This “Bring Your Own Mat” event will give participants a chance to unwind and start their Saturday morning fresh with a socially distanced outdoor yoga session. Free mimosa will be provided and participants will get 10% off brunch at The Stanford House Inn. Those interested are asked to bring their own water as well.

6. Farmers Market on the Plaza

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Where: Belk at 2701 Rio Grande Blvd., Euless
  • How much: No entry fee

Glade Parks Town Center in Euless is hosting its Farmers Market on the Plaza indoors this weekend at the Belk department store. Visitors can shop fresh food from local growers during this market event.
