On the Course: Anthony Anderson is no stranger to golf
“If it wasn’t basketball or football, it didn’t register to the majority of kids in our neighborhood.” Anthony Anderson told DETOUR about his childhood experience with sports. “I touched the golf club at 25 years of age.”
Now Anderson is an avid golfer, using the game not only as a pastime, but as a business venture. What’s more, golf has taught Anderson to be more aware of people around him.
“You can tell a lot about a person by how they’re playing this game,” the Black-ish actor told DETOUR at the Wild Turkey Golf Club in Hamburg, NJ, where he was part of the Original Tee Golf Classic 2022. The tournament was created to celebrate African American golfers and aims to bring together golf enthusiasts from different paths of life, to compete, network and forge connections.
