TCU football lands commit from Euless Trinity 3-star defensive lineman

While most of Texas was getting ready for bed Saturday night, Izaih Filikitonga was nearly 4,000 miles away in the middle of the Pacific.

The 3-star defensive lineman from Euless Trinity was playing in the 2018 Polynesian Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.

During a break in the action, Filikitonga announced his commitment to play for Gary Patterson and the TCU Horned Frogs. He also considered Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

“Being close to them, it feels like home,” he said.

Filikitonga, who was voted district defensive newcomer of the year during his sophomore season, helped the Trojans to an 11-3 record, the 5-6A district title and a trip to the Class 6A Division I state quarterfinals.
